You may find documents other than justI am looking for reviews and ratings by.We keep our list of direct ZyXEL driver and firmware links up-to-date so they are easy to find when you need them. Amazon calculates a product’s star ratings based on a machine learned model instead of a raw data average. The model takes into account factors including the age of a rating, whether the ratings are from verified purchasers, and factors that establish reviewer trustworthiness. See All Buying Options Add to Wish List Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. You can still see all customer reviews for the product. Internet speeds were a little higher with this modem, then the one the cable company provided for a monthly fee. It will pay for itself in less than a year. If you are renting a cable modem, buy one and keep your money instead of giving it to the cable companies. They shouldn't charge you to use it anyways. It is just another way to add money to your bill. It is easy to change out or just call your cable company and they will walk you through it. Follow the directions and keep your hard earned money. My uplink and downlink speeds more than doubled, though possibly I should not be surprised given the old tech I replaced. The issue with this product is the poor setup instructions. It does not fully describe the indicator light functions so if you are lost, you will probably get no useful help from the documentation (hint: restarting your router after connecting it to the modem is the most important missing step). This is not instantaneous and even once connected the response time is slow enough that you might assume something is wrong. This step isn't explained in the documentation, either. Eventually it works, but not without some unnecessary worries created by steps that could be explained in the documentation. Please try again later. Itchy Teeth 3.

I have been using this modem on Comcast since July 2016, and recently recommended this modem to my sister. We are in California's Bay Area. I don't know if Comcast stopped adding this modem to their service in other areas. Please try again later. Please try again later. JPM 5.0 out of 5 stars Works great. Simpson 4.0 out of 5 stars But after Comcast fixed their multiple setup mistakes (unrelated to this item), it was easy for them to set up and has worked fantastic and has been very reliable. I give 4 stars instead of 5 based on my educated guess that the UI is probably lacking (based on UI of my new ZyXEL modem and other reviewers' remarks about the BRG35503 UI, since I have no access to most of the BRG35503 UI). I trust the specs, which say that it can handle much higher bandwidths. I think that a dedicated, simple modem like this, with a separate dedicated WAP, usually is more reliable and extensible than a more expensive all-in-one unit. With this unit, you could upgrade your WAP to 802.11ac in a year or two, without effecting your Internet connectivity and without wasting your investment in bundled (and generally inferior) modem WAP.Please try again later. 0 out of 5 stars The ZyXEL did not auto-connect so I telephoned Comcast for connection. It took about 15 minutes from the time I plugged in the modem until Comcast had me connected for service. This was the easiest modem install I have ever worked on. Comcast was able to connect on the first try. The old Zoom took 3 reboots and troubleshooting before Comcast was able to get a signal. I waited until I had an internet connection with the new modem before I hooked up the router, so that I could troubleshoot in case of a modem problem with the initial install. My Netgear N750 and the ZyXEL communicated immediately and I had WIFI in 5 additional minutes. Just to test things, I had family members use the Internet on 2 Samsung phones, an iPhone and Toshiba laptop simultaneously, while watching Netflix. No problems and the modem remained rock solid. It is a good little modem and is doing well with Comcast in Indianapolis. I will update if needed. Please try again later. Please try again later. 13iron 5.0 out of 5 stars It's not a zyxel product. The price was right. Set-up was a snap! It works with TimeWarnerCable! (but u need to call TW to activate the device. Speak to tech support. Don't do the automated activation!)Please try again later. Please try again later. What Matters 4.0 out of 5 stars A big however. Comcast is difficult to deal with. Customer service bounced me around to three people and dropped the call. I wasted a half hour. The second try was successful, but another half hour wasted. They seemed ignorant about this model despite it being on their approved list. More time wasted. The representative told me that he would call me back to complete installation of the modem in their system but never did. Out of frustration I opened Internet Explorer which defaulted to the Comcast Xfinity modem set up site. From there it worked reasonably well. Bottom line: Comcast customer service is terrible.

If there are modems available that promise an easier interface it might be worth spending more money to not have to waste an hour dealing with poor customer service from Comcast. Please try again later. Please try again later. I had to do nothing other than take it out of the box, plug it into my wall jack and call Comcast customer service. They asked me for the specifics of my account, and then had me read the MAC address number off of the modem. They told me to wait about an hour and it will come online. If it doesn't work in an hour I should call back. I then plugged my wireless router into the modem and turned on my computer and opened the internet browser. It said I had not internet connection. Within 20 minutes the modem lights flashed and it rebooted. It wasn't hard at all. I ran a speed test it was just as fast as the one Comcast gave me.Please try again later. Please try again later. C Nix 5.0 out of 5 stars I am beyond elated with the savings I continue to accumulate monthly. This is a purchase that has already paid for itself and keeps on giving me a little extra savings each and every month. Now, that's just crazy. I highly recommend this absolutely wonderful modem. No problems whatsoever to report here. Please try again later. Please try again later. Todd Loveless 5.0 out of 5 stars So far is working well and connecting to Comcast was not difficult. Interesting, the internet speed did not change switching from Docsis 2 to Docsis 3 modem and is much slower than the advertised speed for Comcast Blast. Comcast sent us many notices that we should upgrade our cable modem to take advantage of the higher speed with a Docsis 3 modem but then there is not any higher speed, likely due to Comcast transmission limitations. Probably we should have continued to use the Docsis 2 modem until Comcast made it unusable.

Pulled this modem and put back older one and everything went back to normal.
However, after what seemed a very long time it came back alive and I noticed the Link status light acting differently from when it was installed (originally was a solid, consistent flash rate. After reset it was more like 5 flashes in a row, then a longer time with LED out, then 5 flashes in a row, etc.). Thinking something might be different now, I decided to try another install. Lo and behold, I had internet. A bit erratic at first, but there was a connection (and my computer told me I might have log in to get full access). I decided on a do-it-myself provisioning this time. Went to the Comcast activation page (provided by one of the reviewers here, thank you) and went thru the process. Took about 5 mins and was done (did have to go back and re-instate my computer's IP and DNS addresses I had changed as part of the original testing process). Moral of the story? Before installation, press and hold the RESET button for a minimum of 20 secs. (without WAN or coax connected. Then, if you can, use Comcast's webpage to enable the modem.
