CHANGING THE DEF AUL T P ARAMETER SETTINGS SALINITY CONTROL METHOD SELECTOR The following operating parameters can be adjusted using the wall control but only if a drain valve has been fitted to your cooler. This parameter controls the following 2 options. V alue 0 uses the intelligent W aterManager which measures and controls the water ’ s salinity level. V alue 1 drains the tank every 65 minutes when the cooler is ON. V alue 0 is the preset and preferred setting. T o change the salinity control setting use the following sequence: (1).With the wall control turned OFF, hold down the button. Continue to hold this button down and press the button. If fitted, the bleed system, pictured on page 16, will constantly drain small amounts of water during the operation of the cooler. This allows fresh water to be added diluting any minerals and salts accumulated. The bleed rate for your cooler will depend on local operating conditions and will be set by the installer.

If your cooler has been installed with a drain valve it is accompanied by the W aterManager salinity probes. When the tank’s water salinity level reaches a preset level the W aterManager will open the drain valve and release about 6 to 8 litres. Fresh water will then be added diluting any minerals or salts accumulated. The W ater Manager will continue to monitor and drain water as required. This can be set by changing the salinity control method selector if using the wall control, or DIP switch F if using the remote control. NOTE: When the cooler ’ s tank is empty and the cooler is turned on again, the fan operation will be delayed as the tank is refilled and the pads are saturated. If the power in your home goes off for less than 5 seconds the cooler will retain its current settings. That is, it will stop for the time the power is off but resume operation when the power comes back on again. If the power goes off for more than 5 seconds the cooler will automatically turn itself off. That is, once the power comes back on the cooler will not resume operation. If this unit has been maintained from purchase you may be covered by the seven year warranty. Its not clear who your. Well do u know that since submitting this, I have received messages from others advising that they have experienced t. I think spending such a large amount of money for an evaporative cooling unit and then having it break down as soon as your warranty ends is absolutely poor. And then finding out from the technician fixing it, that this happens to everyone, tells me that the evap cooling unit is built very poorly. What’s more, to repair it costs over 1300. 250 for a call out and 1000 plus to replace the part. Which is the mother board. I had originally asked many people to buy your evaporative coolers. Skiddy 3 Perth The older model worked well just old and costly to repair. With new Breezair had a Magic controller fitted. Since we had it installed in October 2017 it has stopped several times. The first time for approx 2 weeks just after installation which happened to be through the Christmas period. At which time no repairs could be scheduled. Since then it has done it again. When technician came as soon as he touch Magic controller pad it started to work. He then up on roof to check out unit and found pump had been installed wrong and as he said was trying to pump up hill not down. He noted it on service documents. Now they say as unit did not show fault I need to pay call out service fee. If they have no intention of giving good customer service just tell you to ???off. I run at a setting of 1, 2 or 3 from an available range up to 8 but have not needed higher than the 3. Even on a day of 40 degree heat. Very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this unit for anyone looking for an evaporative cooling system. The expected newness smell took a few days to go away. How did you guys fix it? Make sure the solenoid is letting water into the unit and make sure the float valve is opening properly. During the pump replacement I realized the reservoir was never emptying. Any suggestions on what I could check or do instead of taking a second mortgage on my house to buy the valve and motor assembly. Any advice on debugging this thing so I can be sure where the problem is? What I found was a white plastic peg that was fully depressed, holding the drain plug in place. It is almost frozen in place. I guessed that battery leakage which I also had was a clue to the problems I had with the remote exactly as you guys described. I guessed that some of the leakage spilled onto the pcb and whenever the humidity got high enough (ie: whenever the unit was working hard!) the traces of battery electrolyte on the pcb would absorb water and become conductive, screwing up the pcb's operation. So I dismantled the unit, washed the pcb with Metho, mildly abraded it with a nylon brush, and dried it with a hairdrier. The local rip-off artist (sorry-distributor) who would surely have known how to fix this, was Coldair of Springvale, VIC. Quite often these guys can be non technical in this area (electronics) but quite knowledgable on HVAC.The pre-summer tech that cleaned the pads simply said it was getting old. Just before the real heat hit the pump died. Had that replaced whilst we were away.
Returned home to find the repairer had left the fan on high (no cooling) for 5 days all windows and doors were locked! As I do just now. Hey its only 33 today but jumping up later in the week. Now I'm reluctant to call the local Seeley people again, as their maintenance techs do not inspire confidence and appear overeager to be somewhere else rather than fixing a problem, but their time is obviouly (judging by the quanta of the post visit bills!). Im a recycled ex-Telecom tech myself.And judging by the sound of leaking water, its time to DIY aircon;) After having a quick look at the manual it was pretty clear that the error is water related. Also water was flowin from the drain pipe intermittently, which looked like the valve was continuously opening and closing, which it certainly did.
