Equipped with a powerful 1700 W motor, it cuts even tall, thick and wet grass both effortlessly and reliably. This assures an accurate cut every time you mow the lawn. Its light weight also means the lawnmower is easy to move around the garden. The large 50-litre grass box means that the lawnmower does not need to be emptied as often, which saves time. The annoying process of raking leaves then becomes a thing of the past. The grass cutting height can be adjusted centrally from Page 1 of 1 Start over Page 1 of 1 In order to navigate out of this carousel please use your heading shortcut key to navigate to the next or previous heading. MR M. 3.0 out of 5 stars Today however, just cutting light grass it started to smoke and completely gave up the ghost. Stripping it down I found that it was the brushes and the brush holders on the motor that had failed, easy I thought, I'll just replace them. Having now wasted 3 hours of my life trying to find the replacement parts I have, with a heavy heart, accepted defeat, it's just not possible(it's more the brush holders that have totally disintegrated that I can't source). I can buy a whole new motor for the price of a new mower so it's just not worth it. Having looked around it appears 2-3 years is the average life expectancy of one of these mowers, it's a shame, either with better parts in the first place, or access to reasonably priced spares I could have kept the old girl running. I'm going to give Black and Decker a chance this time! And it would cut out every so often to avoid overheating.

It eventually died after a year and I was provided with a replacement under warranty. The 1700w motor on this Rotak 40 chews up any length of grass and thickness and takes it in its stride. Very comfortable to use and the larger grass collector means you can keep mowing for longer before emptying. I also finds that because of the more powerful motor it manages to pack more grass into the collector before you have to empty it. On the Rotak 32 I previously had I'd have to empty it before it was really full as it would start falling out the motor. You pay for what you get. This is the better of the upper-end mowers. This thing is incredible - it is so well made, very ergonomic and fast - you can walk at a normal pace and it just Cutts away and keeps pace.I checked online I found out there is a cutoff feature which cuts out on over heating so I should let it cool down for a while after waiting for over an hour I tried using it but no luck. Tried it next day it won't start so returned the item for a refund and order a Flymo Lawn Mower. This product seems to have this issue as some of the reviews on Amazon and other sites have had the same issueDithered between this and good petrol mower - so glad I picked this. As others have said - cord is about ten metres - so you need an extension - but thats and extra ?10-?15 - so overall not much of a downside. Glad I bought this - use it every week - light to use, easy to move, easy to empty, cuts grass really well - leaves nice stripes - what more do you want?A Rolls Royce of electric mowers.Large grass box that for my lawn size I only have to empty it once. Gives nice stripes as well.Has a very powerful motor. You get 3 years gaurantee if you register withh Bosch. The longest gaurantee for a lawnmower. My only complaint is that the cable is too short and it doesn't unplug from the mower so you have to use an extension lead.

The Qualcast I had for getting on for 10 years and decided on replacement after it's second electric motor burned out. Plus parts of the casing were having to be held together by gaffer tape. The old Qualcast one fits the Bosch perfectly and so no real need to assemble the new one. The motor braking system on the Bosch seems very strong and so I hope that does not lead to the motor burning out sooner than it should. It cuts the lawn well which to should with a brand new blade. I trust it will live up to the boast on the box for autumn leaf collection. The body casing of the mower I feel could be much stronger as it has quite a flimsy quality and would not stand up to hard and heavy usage. As an aide I still have a Qualcast 14 inch cylinder electric mower, self-propelled with clutch to disengage the drive, purchased second hand in 1980. Still going strong, made of metal (not plastic), and clearly of much better quality than the above. But I do have a large garden and it is extremely annoying that this newer model has a shorter cable than the first one. The machine is powerful, and perfectly capable of mowing my 170 foot grassed area, but I would now have to cut it in much smaller sections due to the shorter mains cable. I have had to buy my own cable joiner and some additional cable in order to use the mower effectively and that is the only thing about it which I dislike. With a longer cable I would have given it 5 stars. Kah 5.0 out of 5 stars It says its quiet, but it is actually a bit louder than my flymo - which was loud. But this is definately a better mower, flymo made so so so much mess- the grass catcher was rubbish it used to just blow out absolutely everywhere when you get the edges on the patio, then the patio was just filled with grass. This one, literally a couple of bits. One sweep and its gone. I love the way you can change the height so easy too. There are almost four pages of safety coverage but not one word on how to assemble the various parts inside the box; you are left to figure out what goes where through common sense and a set of unclear diagrams which only make sense in hindsight after you have assembled the thing. Luckily, there are not too many components and it would be difficult to assemble it incorrectly. However, that is not the point; almost anyone could write a set of simple instructions which could be inserted in the manual (although I hesitate to call it that as it is a small ( A5) set of flimsy pages) and which would assist in the assembly of the device.

https://laneopx.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f5f53df6c3---bosch-wob-1600-manual.pdf

There is a picture of a hand brush in one of the diagrams, I have no idea why it is there. It appears to be completely superfluous to requirements and the mower can be assembled without its use. The grass box is comprised of three parts one of which one part is the top. You might think this would be a simple process; there are 'lugs' on one half and corresponding 'recesses' on the other side to accept them. However, the plastic is somewhat flimsy and mine was warped on in different directions on both pieces and the lugs and holes did not align and took a lot of effort to force them together. Further, even when aligned, the lugs did not simply push into the recesses but had to be forced which, because the plastic was flimsy and because there was not sufficient thought given to how the assembler might grasp the thing while performing this function, was not at all easy. Likewise with the top part, it should have been an easy fit requiring minimum effort but alas it was not. Luckily, once completed, it does not have to be assembled again and remains as a unit for the life of the mower. Then there was also one remaining part, a little circular plastic clip which I assumed was to hold the cable (which isn't very long so if you have a big garden you are going to require a good quality extension) to the frame. There are no instructions for the clip and no illustrations of its use or where it is supposed to be positioned. I finally found a place where it would anchor but if it has been designed to go there it is a very poor design. To add further to my list of issues, the package did not include any guarantee, neither separately packaged nor within the 'manual' itself. I am about to go online and see if I can resolve this on their website. Bosch tools are typically of a good standard, I have several DIY Bosch products even a Bosch kettle.

chongthamhaiphong.com/upload/files/competent-communicator-manual-speech-5.pdf

This product falls below that standard at least as far as the initial assembly is concerned, I have yet to use it to actually cut the grass (the inclemency of the weather does not yet allow). However, I will add further to this review after the first cut and again after a year of use (if it is still available for purchase by then). Thus far, I have only given it two stars (for initial assembly and 'manual') but hope that this will rise on usage. I have now used the mower as the weather permitted. The flex was sufficient for my smallish lawn but I suspect will not be long enough if your lawn is quite large and, thus, you will need an extension. There is a lever on the side of the mower to adjust the height of the cutting blade and thus the depth of the cut. I put it in the lowest position to give me the maximum cut. However, in this position, it cut the grass really short and I could hear the blade catching every stone or obstacle which, in the long run, would not be good for the blade and so I raised it a setting or two (there are 6 settings). It made light work of cutting the grass, I really couldn't fault it. It also was very effective on grass collection leaving the lawn looking great after cutting. One obvious issue is that the grass collection box has no indicator that it is full, there is not even a window into it such that you could see when it needed emptying. However, I checked a couple of times and emptied as necessary. It isn't as easy to empty as my old Flymo but it was exactly difficult either. I guess I just need to get used to it. The best thing I noted, however, was that the mower cut right up to the edge (or very nearly) meaning that I didn't need to spend another hour using a strimmer to do all around the periphery. Cutting up to walls and boards and other external barriers wasn't a problem, the machine is designed in such a way to facilitate this.

http://julieesteban.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1626f5f5ea5089---bosch-wlf-20262-by-manual.pdf

Only the corners needed a bit of extra attention as the mower doesn't also cut right to the front (only to the sides) but it still out-performed my old mower and it took only a few minutes to attend to the corners with walls. Pressing the central selector once again turned off the power and stopped the mower. The cable could be looped and pushed through housings on the handles to keep it high and away from the cutting edge a little better which was good. However, the little black circular clip for which there was no instruction) came away from the position in which I had mounted it during operation (thus, I had not figured out its use correctly) and so I just took it off as it didn't prevent the mower from operation in any way. One further issue was, after use, there is no cable tidy mechanism. It would have been simple to design the handle with lugs around which the cable could be wound and neatly stored but alas there isn't such a mechanism. However, It was a simple matter to wrap the cable around the handle itself and store the mower for next use. I would give the mower four out of five stars for its operation and use. It loses a star for the couple of issues I have previously mentioned. I have adjusted my star rating up to four overall. In a year I will return to this review and comment further after prolonged usage to see if the mower stands the test of time. It has a three-year warranty (if you register it online which is not as simple as it could be) but the conditions state that normal wear and tear on parts is NOT covered - and who decides on what is 'normal' wear and tear. Why Bosch does, of course. Meaning that they could decline a free repair under warranty stating that the fault is 'normal' wear and tear. However, this is hypothetical as I have not had to use the warranty and hope never to do.Still, once ready it feels solid and secure. The cut is excellent, and the ability to go close to edges means I have to do less strimming, which is great.

The 40cm cutting width is perfect for my medium lawn. The grass box is considerably larger than my previous machine too, which is helpful. And it's quite lightweight: easy to lift. The only issue is the length of cable. 10 metres? REALLY? My previous lawnmower had 20. So I need an extension lead -- not a major issue, but it's a bit. It's not a deal-breaker, though So I'll dock a star, but still am pleased with the purchase.Only observation is that the new 'ergo' handle switches require more force to keep the mower on. My old Rotak had a simple bar running the width of the handle and was easier to keep it powered on.It’s a very powerful lawnmower. The lead supplied is quite short and gets caught when cutting the grass. However a powerful machine, which cut grass initially around 8inch high without any problems.Lovely mower, does what it says in the blurb. I would say the bin thing at the back not made out of as sturdy material as it’s predeccessor, but it is bigger. I kept the old bin thing to compare.Won’t leave trace so of grass after mow. The best thing as that you don’t need edge trimmer if you have this mower. Amazing product.Packaging as expected. The mower was easy to assemble, the grass box part was the difficult part. Grass box in 3 parts which is fiddly and there is a knack to it, so match the back ones up and then the sides and the clips need to CLICK, CLICK, CLICK into place, for a good sturdy grass box. If they haven't CLICKED into place properly then the grass box won't be sturdy and will seem floppy. I have a large garden and it was a great mower to use. Would recommend. Down side I didn't get to buy my new mower in the sale, so didn't save much on this purchase.

The Rotak 40 model has a powerful 40 cm steel blade which has been hardened for maximum efficiency., also features adjustable cutting heights which start at 2 cm and increase to 7 cm for a superior and higher level of control over your mower. The cleverly designed grass combs ensuring a clean and methodical cut right up to the edge of your lawn, and a generously large 50 L grass box is provided, allowing for an increased buildup of cuttings and mulch, and less time spent removing waste materials from your machine. Furthermore this lawn mower also has intelligently designed and practical ergoflex handles for an improved standard of control, an improved posture and a reduced strain on muscles whilst working. The handles have been specially designed to provide improved control and a more even weight distribution, thus taking the weight and strain off the back, as well as a design with emphasis on being lightweight and practical to make mowing around obstacles simplistic and hassle free.

An extremely practical feature is the grass-box capacity, which is not just large but is also capable of filling up with high amounts in use by the clippings being delivered right into the back of it, instead of being deposited near the front. Usually it is a necessary pain to repeatedly lift off the box and push the the clippings down and backwards in order to make room for more, but it really isn’t necessary with this mower’s sleek and practical design.Sale Bestseller No. 4 Bosch Rotak 430 LI Cordless Lawnmower with Two 36. The important components that bear the brunt of this include: Although you can sharpen the blades yourself, there is a limit to the number of times you can re-sharpen them and still maintain optimal performance. It varies with how frequently or extensively you use your lawnmower, but a re-sharpened blade will only serve you for a few months before requiring another sharpening. Additionally, dull blades will drain your mower battery faster. This is because the motor has to work harder to make up for the blunt or re-sharpened blade's sub-par performance. For a quick fix, sharpen the blades. For long-term upkeep of your Bosch lawnmower, replace them Bosch lawnmowers spares from eBay. DE WORX WR142E M700: 700m. Bosch Rotak 34R User Manual Download Downsides Conclusion Should You Buy This Model. Where should I purchase this model. If you are looking for an easy to operate mower for a small to medium garden, this makes an excellent choice. This mower is the slightly bigger brother of the Bosch Rotak 32R with a 34cm deck size as opposed to 32cm and a more powerful motor. The Bosch name is known for well priced, hardworking and reliable garden tools. The German-based company has been around since 1886. Their products are easy to use and they are a trusted and popular brand. Let’s take a look at this Bosch Rotak 34R to see how well it performs and if it is the best choice for you and your lawn. Summary The Bosch Rotak 34R is a corded mower and needs its 10 metre power cable to be connected to a mains socket that provides a very respectable 1300 watt motor. The build quality is what you would expect from Bosch and being built in the UK makes getting parts easier and cheaper should they be required. A metal blade is used on the 34R as opposed to plastic proving a good cut and allowing for the blade to be sharpened if needed. The 34cm cutting width makes it ideal for small to medium lawns and for taking up less storage. There are 5 different cutting heights, this is pretty standard for a mower of this size and ranges from 20mm to 70mm which is perfectly adequate to adjust to the changing length and conditions of your lawn. There’s more good news, this mower also has a rear roller for that very British striped lawn effect. OK, lets take a look at this Bosch Rotak 34R in more detail and see what’s good and what’s not so good with this mower. This allows you to create professional looking stripes on the lawn if you so wish. Power System The Bosch Rotak 34R features a powerful 1300 watt Power-drive electric motor. That is plenty of power and will give you professional results with minimal effort.

It is a decent sized motor so even if you have let the grass grow a bit on the long side, you will not have any difficulty. Whilst it is by no means the biggest and most powerful lawn mower on the market, unless you have a jungle to contend with it will do a perfectly good job with ease. The cable that comes with the Rotak 34R is 10 metres long so ensure you have enough extension cord to cover the required area. Also the power system is completely electric so it produces zero emissions and works extremely quietly. Power cable The lawn mower comes with a 10 metre power cable. If more range is required an extension cord will be needed. This length of power cable is relatively standard for mowers in this class. Blades The Bosch Rotak 34R has strong 34cm steel blades. Whilst these will need to be sharpened occasionally, the extremely durable blades will provide a clean and neat cut. If you ever need to replace them, parts are easily available and reasonably priced. The 34cm cutting width is ideal for small to medium gardens. This mower provides a good combination of speed and efficiency whilst still being easy to manoeuvre. The Bosch Rotak 34R is equipped with one blade that provides two effective benefits- Metal blades generally wear less quickly than plastic blades, which results in you needing to replace the lawn mower blade on this model less often. Metal blades are generally sharper and provide a cleaner cut to the grass blade, resulting in a neater, tidier and superior finish to your lawn and garden. As stated above, the metal blades can be sharpened when needed unlike plastic blades. So are the blades on the Bosch any better than its nearest competitors. Well, no not really. The blades on the Bosch are good but are no superior across other mower brands in this size and class. As well as being able to sharpen the blades, it is also possible to purchase a genuine replacement blade for the Bosch 34R for around ?16.

Replacing the blade is relatively easy for anyone with basic DIY skills and tools. Roller (stripes) Like a stripy lawn. Well the Bosch Rotak 34R does come with an Integrated Rear Roller for a lovely stripy lawn. Height Adjustment It is essential that your lawn mower is highly adjustable to accommodate different lawn types in the different seasons. The Rotak 34R gives you a choice of 5 settings ranging from 20mm to 70mm using a front mounted lever that centrally adjusts the cutting height. No matter what type of lawn you have or what your seasonal requirements are, this mower will be perfectly adjustable for your needs. If you have left your lawn to grow for a while, don’t rush in and cut it on a very low setting. Rather start on a higher setting and progressively cut it lower. This will avoid leaving an untidy patchy appearance. Is 5 separate cutting lengths better than the competition. Well yes and no. Some mowers at this price point only have 3 height adjustments, however, most will have 5 so it’s pretty much standard. The height adjustment on this model is very easy and smooth to use and is a big improvement over its smaller brother the 32R, where you need to turn the mower upside down to adjust the back wheels in any one of the 3 slots. So 5 heights with a top adjustment lever that is easy to use is very convenient. Cutting Diameter If you are cutting a sports field, the bigger the cutting diameter the better. With gardens, however, this is not the case. The 34cm cutting diameter of the Rotak 34R is ideal. It will allow you to zip around the garden in no time but still will give you the precision and ease of movement for curves and edges. Remember 34cm is one of the smaller deck sizes so if you have a large lawn, say over 350m?, you may want to consider a mower with a larger deck size. Grass Box Capacity Having a large grass box is a bit of a double-edged sword.
