I think, that if some type of internal sound dampening medium was in the machine, that might resolve some of the noise. The sides are stainless steel, and rapping on the side produces a hollow thumping sound. Like a speaker. But, I haven't experimented with that yet. But Breville should consider this in their next iteration. Another option may be to slow the grinder down. The water is still in the preheating phase when it finishes grinding, so there is plenty of time. - The grounds have more fines then I think should be produced in a machine of this price. Maybe better designed burrs are called for. Using the included mesh filter basket left sediment comparable to a French Press. Of course, if you used paper filters, this would not be an issue. Since the machine has no variability in grind size, a purpose designed burr set may be called for to resolve this. But, over all, this is not a major issue. 2) Brewing and dispensing - Brewing pot of coffee, this machine does a fairly decent job. It produced a dark and rich coffee. Good aroma and flavor. - Brewing a cup of coffee. This fails in a number of ways. - Cup: On the highest setting (the most grounds) the machine made coffee that was flat tasting but strong. And used an obscene amount of grounds. - Cup: Set down it to a middle setting produces a weak cup. Less flat, but, still weak and watery. - Cup: Water dispensed. I actually wonder if this is a defect or a broken machine. If it is, then it is probably a common failure since I have seen this in other reviews. Brew for 17 oz water. Get almost 30. The machine overflowed every cup I put in it.This resulted is a cup literally filled to the brim. - Setting it this low resulted in less grounds than needed to produce a strong cup of coffee. - I gave up using a cup. I brew the cup setting into the pot, then decant into a cup. - In testing, the amount of water varied dramatically. Set on 20 oz, I got results ranging between 27-60 ounces.

AUTOMOVILESMONTES.COM/userfiles/files/canon-powershot-sd790-is-instruction-manual.pdf

Of course this results in a very inconsistent cup of coffee. - In summary, if you are brewing a pot, 9 -12 cups, well, then this machine is fairly good. But, then it is way over priced if you already own a decent grinder. There are number of better choices for a drip brewer. - While brewing and afterwards, the front display turns on. This is a large light blue display. It will light up a dark room very well. It will not turn off until you press power or open the ground basket to clean it. 3) After brew, cleanup, and general comments - The cleanup is fairly easy. The solution they came up with for blooming the coffee is interesting. The gasket that connect to the grinder, this seems flimsy, Since this area needs to be dried to prevent grounds from sticking, unless you are air drying I am convinced that I would eventually rip this if I didn't take special care every time. It is thin and floppy. - Everything else in the system seems to be built solid. The machine is sturdy and heavy. Fit and finish was fairly good. - The bean hopper seals very tightly. Nicely sealed. Of course, it holds so little, you will be pulling this off often. - The machine looks impressive and stylish. It is large. And fairly heavy. I've read some reviews commenting on the difficulty using it under cabinets. I do not have cabinets above my coffee area, so I can't comment here. - The interface could be better designed. I wish you could press a function, and then use the arrow buttons to modify the settings. You must practically tip it completely vertical, almost upside down to get it to pour anything once you have emptied half the pot. But, it does pour in a nice straight and tight stream. No drips or splashiness. - The temperature control of the water seemed consistent and correct, but this was difficult to test. I placed a thermoplastic color changing thermometer into the brew basket and let the steep cycle run. Then canceled it. I fished it out of the water and it was at 199f.

http://www.kocay.com.tr/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16286977a3ff78---ca-telon-manual.pdf

The second time it was at 201f. This was at the beginning of the brew cycle only. It was just too much of a bother to test at the end of the cycle. The consistency of the full pot, the ability to regulate strength, the temperature consistency, and a decent full pot taste would make me give this a 4. Minor issues dropping it from a 5. Overall, I would rate this a 2.5 since my focus is the single cup in the morning. I will personally be returning the pot. The inability to properly dispense the correct amount of water must be a defect or broken sensor. I can't see this type of failure being accepted by most people. Having to clean a counter often from overflowing isn't fun. I don't count this issue in my 3 star rating. I never include a defect as part of the rating unless it is a design defect. No product is ever perfect 100 of the time, so I think that is unfair to use as a judgment criteria. Please try again later. candez 5.0 out of 5 stars What really drew me to this machine were the integrated bean grinder, the ability to brew a single cup without having to use K-cups, and the customization options. Like our mattress (where he prefers a softer surface and I’m happiest with something equivalent to concrete), my husband and I have differing views on what makes a great cup of coffee. After all, I can always just send my 2-year-old to make me another cup if I want more. Please try again later. Please try again later. Irrevocable Trust 3.0 out of 5 stars Grind, preheat water to correct brew temp, bloom the grounds (steep grounds before extraction), brew. No product is ever perfect 100 of the time, so I think that is unfair to use as a judgment criteria. Please try again later. Please try again later. C. Miller 5.0 out of 5 stars We previously had the Capresso Team which lasted a good 6 years, a wonderful coffee maker untill it just stopped working several weeks ago. I did my due diligence and researched every coffee maker with a grinder out there.

http://www.digitalsofts.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1628697e211c33---ca-tpx-manual.pdf

I was tempted to just go back to the Capresso, but read reviews that were not flattering about the newer versions. The breville had the best reviews out of many, the biggest complaints seemed to be noise with the grinder and other strange malfunctions. We decided to take the leap and get it and couldnt be happier. This blows the capresso out of the water, from the taste of the coffee to the little things like the ridges in the carafe spout that make the liquid flow out without any spillage. While the grinder is a little noisy, its a grinder people I dont know what people expect, it not as loud as the capresso for sure. When I first got it I was afraid it might be complex from the looks of it but its literally point and click, you just add beans and pour the water in, select the strength, press start and boom wonderful coffee. Just a wonderful machine Pros: well designed, great coffee, easy to use despite looking complex, easy clean up, easy pouring Cons: takes more beans than mostPlease try again later. Please try again later.I should have called Breville before now but we've just been extremely busy. As it stands right now, I would not recommend this coffee maker. Again, once I contact Breville I will gladly revise my review. Please try again later. Please try again later. This coffeemaker is expensive but when you average its cost across many cups of coffee this is the cheaper route. In the past I have had the Cuisinart Grind and Brew with the thermal carafe. It was a good coffeemaker also but this one is MUCH easier to clean. With the Cuisinart I had to thoroughly clean it daily. With the Breville I simply rinse out the carafe, empty the grounds and rinse the filter and the filter holder, add water and brew another pot. Once per week I thoroughly wash the entire system. I am very pleased. Several people have noted the size and the noise. It is big. Make sure you measure your space before you order, but this is not an issue for me.

automatismes-ses.com/ckfinder/userfiles/files/canon-powershot-sd790-is-digital-camera-manual.pdf

It is loud, but not appreciably louder than the Cuisinart. Some people have noted the heat, I have found it to do a great job of heating the coffee, due to the preheat of the water it seems to come out hotter than my Cuisinart did. My only complaint is the pour. When the coffee level gets low it does not pour as well as I would like. I do not take off a star because I can simply remove the top and then it pours fine; since it is near the end of the carafe anyway the heat loss from opening the top is non existent. The only reason I note it is that the pour from the Cuisinart thermal carafe is much better. Operation is easy, coffee is good, and it is a very attractive product. The select-ability of the amount to brew and the ease of select-ability of the strength of the coffee are huge pluses for me. I had the Cuisinart for about 4 years before the grinder died. The newer model is slightly different but appears to be basically the same as my old model. It was a good coffeemaker and I recommended it to many, although I always warned them it was hard to clean, with this coffeemaker I do not hesitate in any way to recommend it. Overall I would highly recommend. Please try again later. Please try again later. So far, I am extremely impressed with the many features of the Breville - finally a coffee maker with some solid thought paid to its users. Read on to hear more about my experience. CONS: 1) Yes, there are a few - most stemming from NEEDING to read the instruction manual. I think can get over this since it ensures that I clean the grinder?hopper parts more often. 3) The price is hefty for a coffee pot, but c'mon, check out all the great things you get. PROS (too many to list, so I may add more as I find them): 1) A pour spout that pours. I was pleasantly surprised that coffee seemed to leap from the pot into my cup. It may sound silly to expect a coffee pot to pour, so I wanted to point out that this one does it right sans the drips.

2) there is a recess in the front of there the warmer would be, which I've found extremely convenient for pulling the whole unit toward me on the counter. This looks a bit over-engineered at first and takes a bit of thought to keep dry to prevent clogging (I imagine - never clogged on me). The maker provides feedback on what you should expect - even when filling it up (water tank has a float telling you it's full AND beeps at you). Not sure what happens if you over fill it. 5) Finally, the coffee tastes awesome. BOTTOM LINE: If you're a budding coffee snob or just want a great high-end machine, it's time to invest in the Breville. It definitely lives up to being called great. Please try again later. Please try again later. NYR 4.0 out of 5 stars The coffee tastes great and the grinder functions as expected. The unit determines how much coffee to grind based on the cups you're brewing. The unit is large. I knew it was on the bigger side of coffee pots though I was surprised by how tall it is. Measure the height of the unit for the space you have. Not really that much wider than your average coffee pot. The custom options are great. You can select the brew strength. You can also fill the water reservoir to the top though brew the number of cups you desire. So technically you don't need to add water every time though they recommend it. I have pre-heated the carafe so far and haven't had any issues with the temperature of the coffee. If you don't pre-heat the carafe I can see where you might run into issues. I like the option to be able to brew directly into a travel mug (no heating unit). I have found though that some of the larger mugs don't fit into the unit. The height of the mug isn't necessarily the issue, there is a small circle that the base of the mug must fit into. Given the overall design good of the unit it's kind of a silly thing to get wrong. The carafe is built like a tank. Keeps the coffee nice and hot.

The opening is too small on the carafe to get your hand inside so it can be difficult to clean. You basically have to turn the carafe upside down in order to get the coffee come out. Kind of silly though it works to not too big of a complaint. The grinder is not as loud as people complained about. It's grinding coffee, it's going to make noise. It's not that loud. Pros: - Grind and brew! - You can brew into a travel mug. - Don't need to fill with water on every use. - Lots of custom settings to select your brew preferences. Cons: - Carafe kind of a pain to clean. - Larger travel mugs don't fit in the base. Sadly my two complaints are silly design issues that they really should have resolved. Otherwise I would have rated it 5 stars. Please try again later. Please try again later. Pros: - Customizable to a fare-thee-well; if you can't get a cup or carafe of coffee to your exact taste, you're doing something wrong. Including the ability to adjust flavor (steeping time) for cups, and flavor and strength (amount of coffee) for cups and carafe, as well as multiple sizes for both. - With this version you can easily brew a partial carafe if you want more than a cup but not a whole pot - just program the number of cups you want to brew; you can start with a full tank. With the glass carafe version: This one is one of the easiest I've used to clean and maintain, but it's not a pod machine; couple of minutes after brewing to dump the grounds and rinse the basket holder. If you use the gold filter it's a little messier, common to all reusable filters: you'll have to rinse it and you'll have some sediment in your coffee - which some actually prefer; paper is neater and disposable. Regularly clean out the grinder assembly (couple of minutes operation), dry it out and you'll be fine. - Relatively low noise. I say relatively. Notice I did NOT say relatively quiet. It's a coffee grinder. That said, it seems to be less noisy than stand-alone grinders I have used.

Our bedroom is above the kitchen, and it doesn't wake us up coming on. Someone here had put felt pads on theirs to make it easier to slide on the counter, and that seems to buffer the sound some as well; recommended. - It has a good sized hopper that will hold about a half-pound of beans. And it brews pre-ground coffee as well, although you can find a cheaper machine if that's your preferred brew and you never grind beans. - Ergonomic, easy to use and understand controls, something I've come to expect from Breville. Breville is noted for its research and well thought-out designs, and this machine clearly represents that legacy. It's a joy to use and operate, unless you get a lemon or defective unit (reports here of poor brewing, problems measuring water, faulty heater, bad grinder - it's an electronic gadget, problems happen), in which case Breville's excellent customer service department will likely make it right. - A great cup of coffee, the bottom line. Cons: - With this version (insulated carafe), your coffee won't stay as hot as in the heated glass carafe model, for as long. Breville advises you to pre-heat cups or carafe. Take their advice. On the other hand, you won't get that burned coffee taste some describe with the glass, and you can brew a partial carafe. - Pricey coffee maker, but has all the bells and whistles. You can brew a good cup of java with cheaper machines, just maybe not as elegantly or automatically. - Noisier than a drip coffee maker. But that's the tradeoff for fresh ground whole-bean coffee, the pinnacle of truly excellent coffee flavor. - It IS difficult to get that last half-cup of coffee out of the carafe; what were they thinking. That said, it does keep the coffee hot for hours. - The programmed setting reverts back to the default if you press any other buttons after setting it.

So double check that it's really set to brew those 4 cups you wanted in the morning before lights out at night, or you'll get a whole carafe and an empty coffee bin. If you forgot to put in a filter, or to put a cup or carafe under it, or choose the wrong settings for the container, you will have a mess. So it's not completely foolproof, because fools are so ingenious. - Big. Takes up some real estate, but then it has several combined features; not any larger than our last Keurig though. One cautionary note - if you fill the reservoir completely, it will spill out at the slightest tipping, so best not to move it when full. All things considered, a great product for making a custom cup or carafe of gourmet coffee, exactly to your specifications, if a little cooler than you might wish. Please try again later. Please try again later. Ed 2.0 out of 5 stars I thought the idea was awesome and I read all the reviews about noise and hot caraf, etc. The noise is like the beach outside the window, love it. Its telling me my coffee is almost ready. The hot caraf? No worries, its hot and if you want hotter, then 10 seconds in the zapper. The controls, ha! If you can figure out your smartphone, this is a snap. But, mine's on eBay already. The excessive amount of beans it uses is simply ridiculous. I compared my old drip maker to the BYB and I find that it actually uses slightly more than twice the amount of beans to brew the same 12-cups of coffee. And the taste is the same. Please try again later. Please try again later. Bruce T. Smith 5.0 out of 5 stars It simply has convenience features no other toaster possesses. Then we saw the coffee maker in a kitchen supply store and started researching the coffee maker universe. To start, it's expensive and physically imposing. If those two things are important, go no further. Somebody at Breville had gathered all the possible problems you can suffer with a coffee maker and designed a unit that eliminated them.

And, the unit has instructions printed anywhere on the unit that you might need help. The control panel virtually eliminates screw-ups on your behalf and makes using it quite simple. You control how much coffee you're making and it's strength. It simply makes great coffee. A warning. Carefully read the manual on how much coffee to use and the type of grind. We have found that the Melitta filters work best. The grind and brand of beans is critical. One (Starbucks) worked perfectly, the other, a well known brand, overflowed the basket. The strength setting also requires some experimentation to get just the flavor you like. It seems to like it's own grind best. By the way, it makes noise when grinding. That's part of the process. The thermal carafe is the absolute best we have experienced, particularly in tandem with the high water temperature the unit uses in the brewing process. This is simply the best coffee maker we have ever used. It's worth every penny. Please try again later. Please try again later.
