Your Mom 5.0 out of 5 stars This guide will help find ALL necessary items, from TMs to Pokemon. This guide can help get a trainer anywhere. The guide explains information that should have been mentioned in the previous generation, such as the sections on breeding Pokemon and their egg groups. It gives all the details necessary to complete the National Pokedex, such as importing Pokemon from other games. Also, it shows all the Pokemon locations (excluding Keldeo). Along with the Pokemon information, there are tips that can help trainers use train their Pokemon in a way that can help win battles and improve their skills. Unlike previous version, there are no simple mistakes. At the same time, the information will be hard to find because there is so much to look through. There are times when it is hard to search through the small book for the information desired. Overall, this is the best Pokemon Pokedex there is.

It has information on all the Pokemon that have been released since the first generation. You can flip the cover over to see a full map of the Unova Region (though there are no maps of the other regions which I wish it had). There are several different sections on all moves, abilities and items. It also provides how to max out the National Dex. This isn't a Strategy Guide on how to beat the game but that is good because I didn't want that. A great book and a great size that you can carry easily. If only they had an ebook version so that I can have this in my Kindle. The cover is actually a map of the entire region that slides right off, and is very helpful when you're on the hunt for pokemon. The only drawback I see is that the order of the pokemon or by number, as in their collectors number, which when trying to look up for weakness during battle is inefficient at best. It does have a glossary that puts them in alphabetical order, how most of us would look them up, which can direct you to the right page, but its an extra step. Over all an essential item for those actually wanting to collect them all. The pokemon stats are condensed onto two pages, so you have all the information in front of you. On the left hand page you have the pokemon and all evolutions along with how and what level they evolve and on the right you have all other pertaining information. Good resource all in all. This book does exactly that. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is of course, the lettering. I assumed when I read the other reviews that the buyers just needed to wear some glasses and stop exaggerating, but it's true. So unless you have good eyesight and don't require bright lights to read then you'll have no problem. I wish this book was bigger, but it fits in my purse and I can easily take it around so I don't mind too muchIt doesn't have Keldeo, Meloetta, or Genesect, though.

Meh, it figures, since they're the most recent event Pokemon and I guess they didn't want to give TOO much away. But all the same, it's great I have this. For all you Pokemaniacs who wanna be up to date, if you can't visit the online sites (like Serebii.net) a whole lot, I recommend getting this book pronto. It has useful information on the games (I have Pokemon White) and the poster on the dust jacket is detailed and, from what I can see, looks like the Unova region! It's smaller than regular books, but it's got everything or most of the information one would need about every pokemon, including the new 5th generation pokes. It includes information as to which moves a poke can learn, it's evolutions, where to catch, and pretty much all info needed. Cons: - Tiny lettering, so if that bugs you, it might be a problem - The index should have been thought out in a better way to present the info the us users. It has all the info you would very need to know about the Pokemon characters of which i'll personally never understand!!!! Great Item, Great Buy, Lots of silence from the children - well happy!!Overall a nice little book, helpful. He loved it. I love having the guides and dex's so I know I can find every little special thing the designers put into the games and it's nice to learn some random facts about some of your favourite Pokemon. He tells me it has everything he needs to know regarding the Pokemon from the version 2 games. The book did arrive after Christmas as the delivery timing was affected by the Christma Post, which I was aware off, but hoped it would arrive on time. On saying that, however, it worked out as a nice treat for my son after getting back into life's routine. Good value for money as it has so much in it. Something went wrong. All Rights Reserved. Has helped him to play game and helped me not to have to listen to him getting angry with game when he can't do somethingYou will find yourself referring to it often. Our library is the biggest of these that have literally hundreds of thousands of different products represented. I get my most wanted eBook Many thanks If there is a survey it only takes 5 minutes, try any survey which works for you. As it's the same region as before, it is still classed as the Unova Pokedex. This page will be updated with all the Pokemon as we know them. Setting up, in fact, is a lengthy enough process as it is, but after ticking off all of the below you'll be in a great position to get started and hopefully continue on your catching quest uninterrupted by diversions for various items or objectives along the way. Step 2 - Organise your boxes in all editions.Focus on hatching, catching and levelling boosts in particular.Hatcher examples include: Magby evolution line; Slugma evolution line; Fletchinder; Talonflame; Litwick evolution line; Larvesta evolution line. Get it nice and high-level from your main playthrough, as it'll really come in handy! Here are our tips for doing it - starting with some general advice and then going into some specific tips for each version you'll be using. Alternatively, keep it on the cart for ease of access if you need to breed or trade anything, and use a third-party device like PowerSaves to backup your saves on PC at regular intervals - note that this isn't an official Nintendo product though, so proceed with caution. At that point you just need to choose what's easiest for you - DexNav and Mirage Spots are probably easier for solo players, but if you're lucky enough to have the more than a dozen 3DS friends required to pad out the Friend Safari in X and Y, that may be the easier option.Hatching, catching and experience-based powers are the most useful. Redditor rebellionmarch explains them well.

People tend to farm them by using the DexNav to find Pelipper easily, and then using the move Thief to steal it from them, and repeating.Best to avoid using these unless you absolutely have to! Cosmog and Cosmoem - Spoilers for Gen 7 stories here, if you haven't already finished them. You've been warned! As you'll discover in your playthroughs of the Gen 7 story, Cosmog is actually the first part of a three-part legendary evolution line for Cosmoem, and then either Solgaleo or Lunala. In Sun and Moon and their enhanced editions you'll get a Cosmog and either a Solgaleo or Lunala, but that still leaves you with the other version's legendary and the Cosmoem to get for your Living Dex. The easiest solution is to have the opposite game version - maybe you have regular Sun and Ultra Moon (which is the case for us) - and then you can evolve the Cosmog to Cosmoem in your second version, catch that version's legendary and you're all set. Otherwise? You'll have to get trading. Think Mew, Celebi, and more recently Shaymin, Genesect, Darkrai and Marshadow. If you miss a distribution (the entire roster was actually given away just over a year ago) then you have two options: wait for the next one, or trade online via the same links above. The Manaphy-Phione method we mentioned above (get one and breed it for more Phione to trade away) is a decent way to start. Alternatively it really helps if you can have a copy of Black or White (or their sequels) to hand, but that's obviously another major step. Your best bet is to find a friend who you can do trades with - this goes for general trade evolutions too! If you click on one and make a purchase we may receive a small commission. Read our policy. These Pokemon are nearly impossible to find in their eponymous games.

It's just a shame that there are over eight hundred Pokemon now, which means that it's going to take you a long time to catch them all. We won't be including things like Mew and Celebi, as Game Freak has given them away on numerous occasions. It's time to pull out the Pokedex and search for the most powerful Magikarp of all time, as well as the elusive royal Bug-type Pokemon that has driven many trainers mad in their attempt to search for her. They can be found in almost every body of water in the Pokemon world. You can only purchase a Magikarp from a salesman on the Marvelous Bridge. The only way to receive this Magikarp was to visit the Pokemon Center in Nagoya, as it was distributed there, from March 20th to May 6th, back in 2013. It was released to promote the fact that the Pokemon Center was moving to a new building. It was a Shiny Pokemon (which is rare enough on its own), that was level 99 and carried a Rare Candy. The reason this Magikarp is so rare is because it knows Hydro Pump, which is a powerful Water-type move that Magikarp cannot normally learn. You could really conquer the Pokemon League with this feisty fish. It is weak, slow, and cannot take many hits before it is knocked out. Dunsparce does not evolve into a more powerful Pokemon and it has yet to receive a Mega Evolution form. It exists only to fill up space on the Pokedex. You also had to go through the annoying process of using Flash to lighten up the cave, during the era when Flash was still an HM move. All of this was way too much work for a Pokemon that was totally useless in battle. The best use of Chimecho in battle is as a staller, as it can inflict status elements and just heal for the rest of the battle. This isn't the best tactic in the world and it would likely get killed in a competitive match, but it at least has a niche. Chimecho is way more effective in battle than Dunsparce, yet it is almost as difficult to catch.

SOS Battles seemed like an interesting idea at first, but in practice, it tended to just artificially increase the length of fights. You first have to encounter a Corsola in the wild (which is hard enough to do already) and use an Adrenaline Orb on it. This will make it nervous, which might cause it to call for help. There is a chance that Corsola will call a Mareanie into battle, which is the only way to encounter it in the wild. Only twenty of these Flying Pikachu were ever given away, which makes it the hardest to find Pikachu of all. They also gave away twenty Pikachu that knew Surf, but these soon became common, as you can trade a Pikachu over to Pokemon Stadium and teach it Surf there. Game Freak replaced HMs with a new concept, called Poke Ride. This allows you to ride certain Pokemon on the field and to use their unique talents as a replacement for an HM. You can ride a Tauros, for example, and break through any boulders you find on the path. This acts as a replacement for the Rock Smash HM. The problem is, you cannot actually call the Sharpedo into battle. If you want to catch one in the wild, then you have to travel to the Poni Breaker Coast. You have a 1 chance of catching a Sharpedo here. You can increase this to 10 by fishing at a bubbling spot of water. The problem is, the water returns to normal after you have fished there. You have to leave the area and return in order to make the bubbles come back, which is just as tedious as hoping to encounter one in the wild. They exist only to fill out the Pokedex, as they are totally useless in battle and are a notorious pain to evolve, as you need to raise the Friendship stat of the Pokemon, instead of its level. When you start a new save file, the game will randomly assign four of the twenty-one trees as the only ones that will spawn a Munchlax. If you manage to find one of these trees, then you have a 1 chance of encountering a Munchlax. Happy slathering!

When you finally found one, you discovered that it was useless in battle. Kangaskhan was just a boring Normal-type Pokemon, that had no worthwhile traits. In game terms, this means that Mega Kangaskhan gains the Parental Bond ability, which allows it to attack twice per turn, with the second attack dealing half damage. Kangaskhan is now one of the best Pokemon in the game and is a regular sight in official tournaments. Every time you encounter a wild Pokemon, you are forced to play a stupid guessing game, regarding which one of the items you should use against it. In most battles, you can just put the Pokemon asleep, or waste a Master Ball on it. The Safari Zone does not allow any shortcuts, which means you will be stuck spending hours trying to find a Tauros who won't run away from you in the first round. Don't let its cute face and happy demeanor fool you - Chansey is an absolute monster on the battlefield. This is one egg that you don't want to mess with. The only time a Pokemon will call a Politoed is at night. In fact, he goes into a creepy amount of detail concerning his affection for Rapidash. Once he finally stops talking, he will give you the ticket that you can trade for a Bicycle. The Chairman doesn't require it, as he can use his Fearow to fly from place to place. The winners would receive a Rapidash and a Fearow, both of which could use Pay Day. This is the signature move of Meowth, which cannot normally be learned by either Rapidash or Fearow. These Pokemon were inspired by the Chairman of the Pokemon Fan Club and his love for his two favorite monsters. Feebas has terrible stats and is totally useless in battle, much like Magikarp. When Feebas evolves, however, it turns into an elegant and beautiful serpent, whereas Magikarp transforms into a violent beast. If you want to find a Magikarp in the Pokemon world, then you usually only need to look in the nearest puddle, as they are everywhere.

Only six random water tiles contain a Feebas, which means that you have to have multiple random battles on each individual square of water, in order to make sure that you haven't missed one that will spawn a Feebas. When Dragonite faced off against Venomoth, it kept using Barrier, because the A.I. is programmed to use a type-effective move at all times. This allowed the Venomoth to overcome the Dragonite in battle, as it was unable to use any move other than Barrier. These are trainers who purposely seek out Shiny Pokemon, which are a different color from the regular kind that you will normally encounter. The chances of meeting a Shiny Pokemon are incredibly slim. There are a few ways to increase your chances, such as finding the Shiny Charm (which is given to you when you complete the Pokedex), but it will still take you a long time to meet one. The only way to catch a Vespiquen is to evolve it from Combee at level 21. This wouldn't be a problem, except for the fact that only female Combee can evolve into Vespiquen, and you only have a 12 chance of any Combee being female. In order to find a Shiny Combee, you have to take the regular chance of finding a Shiny Pokemon and increase it by several magnitudes, as you are far more likely to find or breed a male Combee. What's more, there are plenty of interesting facts about the trio that help to provide a bit of extra depth to the Pokemon while also making them that little bit more memorable in the process. Thankfully though, fans would not have to wait too much longer to get a proper look at them. What is a little unusual, however, is for those terms to be picked up by official Nintendo sources.Shortly afterwards, the name showed up in the UK version of the magazine as well which helped to spread it to a much wider audience. Tepig was once one of the lucky few, although, like many of the others, eventually saw its move shared around with other Pokemon in future generations Pokemon games. One thing that won't be changing, however, is the tradition of starting the game with a choice between three different Pokemon; one of which will be Oshawott. Joining it will be gen 2's Cyndaquil and the Grass Quill Pokemon Rowlet from the seventh generation games. Tepig, isn't much better either, with Fenekin the only fire-type starter with a lower base stat total. Things do improve quite a bit once they evolve, although this does little to help players who are just starting out their journeys. As a result of this ordering, Snivy is also the only grass-type starter Pokemon not to appear in the first slot of its region's section of the National dex. This has led many to believe that its design may have been partially inspired by a pig demon known as Zhu Bajie from the Chinese novel, Journey to the West. If so, it would not be the first Pokemon inspired by Asian mythology. The credit for that belongs to Korean designer and TCG illustrator, Lee HyunJung. Tepig, Pignite and Emboar make up three of the four Pokemon that Lee has designed, with the other one being the gen 6 digging Pokemon, Bunnelby. There have been two exceptions to this though, one of which is Oshawott. Rather than appearing in the Water 1 group, the Sea Otter Pokemon instead belongs to the Field group.

For those wondering, the other is Charmander, who features in both the Monster and Dragon groups rather than Field. Normal service was resumed in gen 8 though, with Grookey being a member of the Grass Egg Group. All three of the gen 5 starters had a base yield of just 28. For the most part, this had very little impact on a typical playthrough, but the change did serve one very important purpose. The yield was changed in the games' sequels, with developers raising it to 62 in order to bring it in line with the rest of the series' starters. Depending on the difference, it can either be devastatingly powerful or incredibly lackluster. Given that Tepig weighs less than 10KG, it generally ends up being the latter. Thankfully for Tepig fans, the move does become pretty useful later on once the Pokemon has fully evolved, with Emboar's 150KG weight making it a far more effective user. He typically writes about 80s movies, 90s video games and post 2000 television shows; although he's happy to cover just about anything providing that it has some depth to it. After years of catching hard-earned Pokemon from different games and wondering if we'd ever be able to use them again, the Pokemon Company has come through with a new trading and storage system called Pokemon HOME. In case you didn't know already, there's a Nintendo Switch version as well as a mobile version of Pokemon HOME, which both link to your Nintendo Account. And yes, the 3DS storage system — Pokemon Bank can transfer to the Switch version. It launched the night of Tuesday, February, 11, 2020. As of November 10, 2020, Pokemon HOME is now compatible with Pokemon GO.However, to get the full package, you'll want to pay for Pokemon HOME's Premium plan. You can purchase your preferred plan through the Nintendo eShop. Players have access to the GTS (Global Trading System) as well as new Wonder Boxes. Trading is limited to the mobile version of Pokemon HOME.

If it's been a while or if you aren't familiar, the 3DS handheld system's Pokemon Bank allowed you to store up to 3,000 monsters from several games. This means that if you have a 3DS and use Pokemon Bank, you can move Pokemon into Pokemon Home from the many Pokemon games available on 3DS, as well. However, some of the games could only deposit into Pokemon Bank but couldn't receive transfers from the storage service. Something similar is in place for Pokemon HOME. That means that anything transferred to Pokemon HOME from a different Pokemon title won't be able to go back into its original game. Even with the DLC Expansion Passes, Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra, there are still many Pokemon that cannot be transferred into Sword and Shield. This means that many Pokemon will be stuck in Pokemon HOME until a new title is released. Any costumed Pokemon cannot be transferred. Spinda cannot be transferred and, according to dataminers, Kyurem Black and Kyurem White - upcoming fused Legendary Pokemon - cannot be transferred either. Additionally, premium users will be able to place up to 10 Pokemon in a Wonder Box for surprise trading with other players rather than just the three limited to free users. One of the other big differences is that paid players can host room trades to find specific players to trade with. While free users can participate in these Room Trades, they cannot host them. One of the most basic things is that when using the mobile version, you can't move Pokemon into Pokemon HOME from Switch games including Pokemon: Sword, Shield, Let's Go, Pikachu!, and Let's Go, Eevee. Additionally, mobile users cannot exchange Battle Points since this is something used in the Switch games. For more information on these features, continue reading. For those who played the Gen VI and Gen VII Pokemon games, this sounds very similar to Wonder Trades (also known as Surprise Trades in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

) These special Trades are randomly matched up with players all across the globe. Premium subscribers can place up to ten Pokemon in the Wonder Box at a time, directly from their mobile phones. Basic subscribers are still able to utilize the Wonder Box, but are limited to three Pokemon at a time. The Wonder Box is limited to the mobile version of Pokemon HOME. This global network allows players to trade almost any Pokemon by listing exactly what they would like in exchange. Premium subscribers are able to list up to three Pokemon in the GTS at a time, while Basic subscribers are limited to one at a time. The GTS is limited to the mobile version of Pokemon HOME. Any subscriber is able to participate in Trading Rooms, but Premium subscribers can create and host these rooms. Trading Rooms is limited to the mobile version of Pokemon HOME. Any subscriber over the age of 16 can directly Trade Pokemon with their Friends. The Friend list is unique to Pokemon HOME, allowing any Pokemon Home subscribers over the age of 16 to add other Pokemon HOME subscribers to their Friend list. Friend Trading is limited to the mobile version of Pokemon HOME. This includes Mega Evolutions and Gigantamax Pokemon. This National Pokedex includes far more information than just the Pokedex entries, with all possible Moves and Abilities. Also known as Pokemon Distributions, these are free Pokemon and items that The Pokemon Company gives out to players, either through a code or through logging in during a specific time period. Pokemon HOME will have its own Mystery Gifts, allowing players to build up an even greater collection of Pokemon and items. Mystery gifts are limited to the mobile version of Pokemon HOME. This allows players to evaluate their Pokemon stats compared to the best possible for each species. Judging is available on both the mobile and Switch versions of Pokemon HOME. In this room, can see information about events, as well as the games you've connected to Pokemon Home.

You can decorate your Room with Stickers you've earned by completing Challenges in Pokemon Home. This News section is limited to the mobile version of Pokemon HOME. This will include information about Ranked Battles and Online Competitions being held for Pokemon Sword and Shield, as well as rankings of all Pokemon being used in those battles and competitions. We don't know when this feature will be available yet, but as soon as we do, we'll be sure to update you. Battle Data will be limited to the mobile version of Pokemon HOME. Players can exchange these points for Battle Points or BP in the core games, much in the same way Poke Miles work in the Pokemon Bank. Pokemon HOME Point exchange is limited to the Switch version of Pokemon HOME. This list is in alphabetical order rather than Pokedex order. Any Pokemon with an asterisk next to it has a Galarian form. If you're interested, you can also see our Complete Pokedex which has every Pokemon by their National Pokedex numbers.
